Supporting Teachers: Creating Responsive Funds for Next Year's Classrooms
Each year, teachers identify resources that would be helpful to students in their classrooms. These resources may include books that depict diverse characters so students can better see themselves in stories shared, supplies for a new STEM activity that excites and challenges students, or even student incentives that reinforce new behaviors to achieve a classroom goal. Each need is specific to an individual teacher and classroom, but without sufficient funds set aside, our teachers simply won’t have access to all the resources that best support their students.
But we can change that.
We are asking our community to contribute toward a responsive needs fund so our teachers can do what they do best — support our students. The money we raise will touch all classrooms next year, and every donation will help ensure that Salmon Bay teachers can respond to their students’ needs. We know things will likely continue to change and shift as we deal with the aftermath of the pandemic and our staff works to meet instructional goals. These flexible funds will help our teachers address new and emerging needs across all grade levels.
Please raise your virtual paddle in support of our students and staff by contributing to a responsive needs fund. Using your mobile device, you can contribute right now. Or, learn more about this Fund-a-Need during our live auction broadcast — just text CAMP to 71760 to register for the event and donate.
